Pre-retirement Trip - Athens October 2021

Image
Covid made us a little hesitant but we braved a week in Athens.  We were both vaccinated so no Covid test to enter Greece and their Passenger Locator Form app was not too bad.  The trip was heavenly and it confirmed I'm ready for the retirement. Athens was on my bucket list since the Greek History class in my grammar school days.  Some places were closed and I heard nightlife was affected due to Covid, but we were able to see most of what we wanted to and had fa great time. Hotel - We  stayed at  Hotel Grande Bretagne at a friend's suggestions.  https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/athlc-hotel-grande-bretagne-a-luxury-collection-hotel-athens/ Normally, I don't spurge on hotel since we only sleep at night but since this was a special trip, we decided to spurge a bit and found out why people spend all that money to stay at 5 star hotels.  Got upgraded to a beautiful suite.  It was almost a shame we didn't spend too much time in our suite.

It is finally happening!

Hi, I am retiring at the end of the year! My husband Allen and I planned to spend the eve of 2022 in Paris then start the year traveling Portugal for 6 weeks but Omicron ruined our plans. So, we are planning the cross country trip.  We will spend spend the eve of 2022 in Las Vegas then start the trip stopping at all the places we've wanted to see but didn't have time to visit. Join us as we start our new adventure.
